Art I Want to Create in the Future #1

I feel as if everything in the world can be considered an art form. Saying this, I would like to talk about some of the forms of art that I would like to participate in in the future. This post will actually be in three seperate parts, since I wrote a whole lot about all of these things. Thank you so much if you stick through all three parts.

Cooking/Baking – Cooking and baking have both been hobbies of mine since a few years ago, and I would love to become better at both of these things. I considered going to college for cooking, but I figure that business is a more important venture right now in my life. However, if I can, I would love to minor in culinary arts. I think that it is so amazing that people can create such amazing dishes, both visually and in taste. I want to be able to cook anywhere, with anything, without having to use a recipe. That is such a desireable skill for me. Especially when I am living on the road, I think it would be a really amazing skill to meet new friends, have them invite me over, and then cook from scratch in their home. I also love watching cooking and baking television shows, which is another motivator to improve my cooking and baking skills.

Painting Acrylic and Oil – I would also like to become much better at painting in the near future. I think paint is such an amazing medium and people do amazing things with it. If other people can create such amazing things, than I can too, right? There are so many amazing things that people do with paint, and it really inspires me to increase my own skills in this medium. I really want to do some realistic styles and some impressionism. These are two of the styles that I find most impressive when I see them, which does not mean that the other styles are less impressive. I have recently been trying some abstract styles out, because I found out that the style I chose does not require a super high level of skill to pull off nicely.

Drawing – I really admire people who can just pull out a piece of paper, and draw a proportionally correct face, body, or anything else really without having to use a reference. My drawing skills right now are alright when I use a reference, but I definitely have not had enough practice drawing anything to not use a reference or create original characters. Currently, I am striving to get better at drawing different things from reference, and then I am going to start trying to draw things just from memory. I get frustrated really easily, so this will not be a quick process, but I know if I really want to get better that I will keep practicing even if I get frustrated sometimes.

Animation – Even if this is not a high priority, I still think that it is awesome when people can animate stickers or tiny graphics to make their videos more interesting and aesthetically pleasing. Animation is, especially now, a very accessible skill with all the classes and videos and people who are really good at it who are willing to teach new people how to do it. Even just seeing little animated videos of stick figures doing little things is really cool to me that people can do that, and it wouldn’t be that hard for me to acquire some basic animation skills if I have a touchscreen laptop in the future, which I hopefully will.

Digital art – I am very interested in learning how to use various digital art programs, mainly because it is so much easier to correct mistakes on a device instead of on paper. Another reason I am very interested in this medium is because you have access to all different kinds of brushes, tips, and things like that, which in order to have tangibly would cost a lot of money. I really also like the idea of different layers, so you do not risk folds in your paper when erasing haphazardly or anything like that. I also like that if your art is on your computer, it will not get stains on it, it won’t get lost in your house, and you don’t have to go through the trouble of scanning it to sell it as a print, or even just to copy it.

Handwriting – People who can do calligraphy and people who have very nice handwriting are both very impressive to me. Both of these things definitely take practice and patience, which is why I have not done much of either. Although I have practiced my handwriting a tiny bit following a video of a YoutTuber trying to improve her handwriting. I was trying to make my handwriting more uniform and aesthetically pleasing, but since I am not in school, and probably will not be for a while, it’s going to be a while until I can practice these things regularly without having to plan times to practice it. Calligraphy is also an expensive art to master, which is a big deterrent for me, but I will get there eventually.

For right now, this is the end of the first section. I hope you liked learning about all of the things I want to do in the future, and thank you so much for supporting me!
