Hello! This is the second ashtray that is St. Patrick’s Day themed. I really liked making all of these and I think I like them more than the Valentine’s Day ones, but I still really liked those.
This ashtray is a little bit of an accident. Here is some backstory: I made another ashtray that was supposed to be black and green, both colored with alcohol ink. However, I thought that I accidentally put blue alcohol ink in the resin instead of green, so I just ended up making a black and blue ashtray. So, I made sure that I was using the green alcohol ink this time and only the green alcohol ink. I checked and double checked, and put the green alcohol ink into the resin. I started mixing it, and it turned blue! So, I ended up making this ashtray black, blue, and green, instead of black, light green, and dark green.
Next time I want to make some resin with green alcohol ink in it, I am going to put 2 drops of blue ink and 2 drops of yellow ink to see how well they mix into an actual green, since the green alcohol ink clearly does not react well with the resin I use. And before you think it, I did use the green ink on a paper towel to see if it was actually green or if the company I got it from accidentally put blue ink inside the green ink bottle, and it was green on the paper towel.
Even with this small mishap, I still really love how this ashtray turned out, especially the bottom and sides. I like how the green resin bubbles out into the blue resin in the bottom, and I like how all three colors blend in the sides.
This is not for sale! I recently sold it and I am really happy about that. However, if you would like an ashtrat similar to this one, please send me a message so we can talk about it! I would love to make a custom ashtray for you!
If you would like a custom ashtray, the general pricing for just color and glitter in my medium to small molds would be $15 locally in Vegas, and $20 if I am shipping it to you. This would be $5 extra if I am using a larger mold, since it takes more resin to make. The general pricing for color, glitter, and flowers or a picture or whatever else you want me to put in it would be $20 locally in Vegas, and $25 if I am shipping it to you. If you would like me to add a magnet in the bottom or the sides, that would be $5 extra. If you wanted something that had more stuff than this, the pricing varies.
