Deciding on Walls/Flooring/Ceiling for My Van

Hello! This is a really exciting post for me to make, since I think I have a lot of creative plans for the future. This post will be about what kind of flooring, ceiling, and walls I want inside of my van. I know that there are a ton of options out there and I also know that my opinion might change once I actually start working on my van.

This is a post that you guys chose! If you would like to participate in the poll for next week’s post, please vote at this link: Poll! Every vote counts towards choosing the next post!

A lot of thought has already gone into these things, but I know that a lot more thought will have to go into it before I actually start. I know that I will have to consider things like price, installation, obtaining materials, etc. before I start, but this post will just be about the ideal things I want to do for my van.

I do not know if the siding in this van is plastic or not, but this is pretty much what I am going to be describing as plastic siding. I also really love how the ceiling and the walls work together with the floor.

I’ve seen a lot of posts with vans that have vinyl siding or wood walls and ceiling, which I both really like. I think that the plastic would be super easy to clean and to customize, and the wood looks really nice and brings a super nice vibe into the van.

However, I do not think I will be doing any plastic things on my walls or floor, but I do think I will be doing some wood panels on the ceiling because I think it will bring the van together, and will put a little bit of contrast into the van since I want to make the rest of the van colorful and light, so a dark ceiling might be nice.

Here is an example of one of my favorite colorful van interiors. I really love all of the colors and I think they all work really well with each other.

For a while, I was thinking about what I wanted to do with the walls of my van. I have seen a few people cover some parts of their wall panels with fabric with different kinds of patterns on it, and that really stuck in my head. I think it would be really cool to make one of the walls in my van like a quilt wall with a bunch of different kinds of fabric with patterns attatched to panels in the walls.

This could be a really interesting project, and I think I could also make a lot of things for it, like paint some of the fabric, and I would be able to choose every little detail. I will have to think about this more in the future, like how I will separate the different kinds of fabric, how big each section will be, if they will be different sizes or not, etc.

Here is an example of a van made entirely with wood on the inside. I really like how this looks, but it would be much too overdone for me to live in.

I have not really thought about what kind of materal the rest of the walls, would be, but I think that it would look really nice if it was a light colored wood, so I could paint on it and it would bring a lot of light into the van. I will have to think about this option more in the future.

For the floor, I would really prefer a hard flooring so it is easier to clean, even though it is hard and would be super cold in the winter. I do think that I will have at least one rug on the floor, preferably a handmade rug, so it makes the van seem a little more cozy.

I know a few people who make rugs, and I think it would be really cool to have a big, 70s style flower rug in the middle of my van in some pastel colors. I have seen this kind of rug once before and I really loved how it looked, so I would absolutely love to have one in my own van.

In my house now, we have bamboo wood flooring, which is really nice. However, I know that I have to think about weight with my van, so I might choose a hard flooring option that is less heavy. I will have to research this a lot more in the future, but I would really like a neutral colored floor such as brown or even gray.

Here is an example of plain white walls, with a tile backsplash over the sink. I really like this, but I think it would be too clinical looking for me.

I know there will be a whole lot of different colors inside of my van, so I want to keep the floor and ceiling and most of the walls pretty simple so there is the least amount of clashing possible. I hope that everything inside of my van ends up looking good together and does not look too cluttered.

A lot more planning will have to go into the decoration and planning of my van to make it work out, but I am willing to put the effort, research, and money in to making sure that I love my van for as long as I can. I’m super excited to finally get started on this huge project and make my dream come true.

I hope you enjoyed reading about the beginning of my plans for the siding inside of my van, because there will be a few more os these posts in the future. I will be making one more after I do all the research that I need to do, and then there will be another one when I am building out my van and actually put all of these things inside of it.

Here is an example of the fabric paneling on the interior, and I really like the fabric used in this picture.

Thank you all so much for reading my blog post and supporting my journey. It really means a lot to me and I appreciate every view I can get. I would also really appreciate it if you chose to share my blog with anyone you know! If you would like to participate in next week’s poll, please vote at this link: Poll! I will see you guys next time!

P.S. If you would like a custom ashtray, the general pricing for just color and glitter in my medium to small molds would be $12 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 extra if I am shipping it to you. This would be $3 extra if I am using a larger mold, since it takes more resin to make. The general pricing for color, glitter, and flowers or a picture or whatever else you want me to put in it would be $15 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 if I am shipping it to you. If you would like me to add a magnet in the bottom or the sides, that would be $5 extra. If you wanted something that had more stuff than this, the pricing varies.

    1. Thank you so much! I agree with everything you’re saying and I’m really excited to find and choose my wood and other materials. I would really love to make the rug myself but I might end up buying it from someone who is more experienced if I am not ready at the time. I really hope it will look as good as I hope!
