Art 101: Session 5 Extended Studies

Hello! This is the second extended studies post I have made. This is going to be a pretty short post, because I only have one picture to talk about.

If you haven’t seen the other post, extended studies basically means it’s an optional drawing to do for extra credit. These usually take the lesson a little bit further and are supposed to challenge the skills you are currently learning.

I did this drawing the day we came back from LA, so it was a little rushed and I was a bit tired. The drawing was supposed to be a complex organic object (shoe), a simple organic object (banana), on top of some cloth. I realized I could put the banana on top of the shoe and it would look interesting, so I did that. Unfortunately, I did not get any extra credit for that haha.

Me gesturing “oh well” because I didn’t get any extra credit. 😦

Anyhow, this session helped me a lot with drawing fabric and it was much easier to understand. Drawing the shoe was a lot easier now that I had drawn the same shoe a couple times, and I really like how this one turned out.

I think you can tell that it is sitting on fabric, which was my main goal because that is what I had the most trouble with in the last session.

P.S. If you guys cared about listening to me ramble about what I have in the works, this is the section for you! I plan on filming almost everything we do to the ambulance, maybe streaming it, and writing blog posts about it. There will be a lot of content in the future about the ambulance, so be sure to check back in to see more. Also, if you wanted to be notified any time I went live on my Twitch channel, here is the link for that:

I don’t have that many followers on there yet, but I hope to gain a lot when I start streaming frequently again.
