Hello! I know I just put out a similar post, but that was my wrap up of the 2021 Aftershock lineup, and this post is all about my opinions of the 2022 Aftershock lineup before I go to the festival. I really like making these posts because it shows me my own growth in my taste in music and how much I have branched out since really gettting into the music scene.
I will be making another post after I attend Aftershock 2022 of all of my updated opinions on the bands that I know of. I did this for Aftershock 2021, and I am very pleased with how much I have progressed in my music taste since then, even though that was only about a year ago.
If you would like to read the last Aftershock post, I will post the link here.
This year, there are 93 bands attending Aftershock, which is a lot more than last year. This is because there was a whole other day added, so that is a lot of other bands. Of those 93, I have currently heard of 37 of them. I am so excited to update this post after I go to the festival and see how many more of them I have heard of, and like.
There might even be other bands added and maybe even some that do not attend, so that will be another thing I mention in the update post.

I also like making this posts because it motivates me to find out about new music, and listen to more music that I like. Whenever I go to a festival, I hate not knowing the music of the bands that I see. I feel like if I do not know any of the music by heart, or any of the music at all, I don’t really belong there. I also have a much better time when I know some songs by heart, if not all of them.
I like the feeling of community, and this list below gives me a lot more motivation to listen to more music and learn it by heart to have a better time at festivals. I haven’t been driving as much recently, so I have not had a whole bunch of chances to listen to music, but I am going to try my best between now and October to listen to as much of this music as possible.

Here is a list of all of the bands that I will be reviewing in alphabetical order in case any of you would like to skip to a certain part or band.
A Day to Remember – Architects – Bad Religion – Beartooth – Bring Me the Horizon – Bullet for My Valentine – Chevelle – Clutch – Code Orange – Dirty Honey – Evanescence – Falling in Reverse – Fever 333 – Foo Fighters – Ghostmane – GWAR – Halestorm – HO99O9 – Ice Nine Kills – Jinjer – Judas Priest – Killswitch Engage – Kiss – Lamb of God – Meshuggah – Motionless in White – My Chemical Romance – Papa Roach – Rob Zombie – Shinedown – Slipknot – Spiritbox – Stone Temple Pilots – The Interrupters – Thrice – Vended – Yungblud
Without further ado, here are all of my opinions that nobody even asked for:

A Day to Remember – I do not know a whole lot about them, but I do think I have heard at least a couple of their more mainstream songs. I do want to get to know their music better, and I am looking forward to possibly seeing them.

Architects – I really like this band, and I have listened to them for a couple of years. I have not listened to a whole bunch of their songs, but the ones that I have listened to I really like. I also know of a pretty popular YouTuber who also likes this band, which is how I originally found out about them.

Bad Religion – I love these guys. I know so many of their songs, and I have seen them in concert a couple of times. However, I do not like them so much that I would give up watching another band that I really like to see them. I do hope I get to see them, but I am not sure yet. Their music is not really metal, or heavy rock or anything like that, but I still really like it.

Beartooth – This band is a little bit too grown up for me I think. Their music is alright, but I am not in love with it. I know a few of their songs that I really like, but I don’t think I would be really trying hard to see them in concert. I would enjoy seeing them, but I am not going to work too hard to do that.

Bring Me the Horizon – I really like this band. I know they are probably considered emo by a lot of people, which I also like. I have seen them at a festival before, and they put on a really good show. I like a few of their songs as well, but I am not a very frequent listener.

Bullet for My Valentine – I just started listening to this band recently, and they have a much heavier sound than I expected, which I like. I really would like to see them in person, since they probably have a really fun show with a lot of people who really like them. I really like how their music sounds and I do think that I will listen to them more in the future.

Chevelle – I have only listened to this band a little bit, and based off of my limited knowledge, I think they are an older band who makes more grindy rock music. I am not sure if this is entirely right. However, I do like the songs that I have heard before, but I do not listen to them a lot.

Clutch – This is another band that I have limited knowledge on, but I also think they are an older band. I think they are a bit faster and a tiny bit more metal than Chevelle, but I would really like to see both in concert just to say that I have. I also think it would be a really fun atmosphere because their music is also fun to listen to.

Code Orange – I have never actually listened to this band, but I have seen them around a lot in social media and stuff like that. I do think they are interesting and will probably listen to them before Aftershock actually happens. I do not even know what kind of music they make or what their general vibe is at all haha. I guess we will eventually find out.

Dirty Honey – I also have not heard a lot of music from this band, but I have heard good things about them from a couple of people. I wouldn’t go out of my way to see them at Aftershock, but I would like to see them if it did not interfere with seeing anyone else that I want to see.

Evanescence – I know this band is really popular for that one Wake Me Up song that everyone knows, but I did listen to a bunch of their other songs and I found out that a lot of them were pretty sad. I was a bit disappointed in this, since I really wanted to like them a lot since they have been around for a while and are so popular, but I am just not that into sad music. I am not sure if that is all of their music, but I know it was most of the songs that I had listened to already.

Falling in Reverse – I actually saw this band at the first Aftershock I went to in 2019 with my mom, and it was really fun. I know they are a bit more emo than most of the band on this list, but I do really like them. I have a few of their songs on my regular playlists, and I am excited to possibly see them again.

Fever 333 – I do not really like this band and I never have. I listened to all of their music before Aftershock in 2019, and I didn’t really like their music then. They are a little bit too harsh and screamy for my taste, but I would go to their show if I had the chance. I don’t think I would really ever listen to their music on a regular basis unless my taste in music changed at some point in my life.

Foo Fighters – This band is actually not going to be attending Aftershock this year, or any other festival for that matter since their drummer recently passed away. I don’t blame them at all, but I am a bit sad that we will not be able to see them any time soon. I do not think Aftershock has announced a replacement yet, but I might do a little update once they do. I really do like this band and I grew up with a lot of their music since my mom really likes them as well.

Ghostemane – Ghostemane was also at Aftershock 2019, right after Falling in Reverse, so we also saw them. They are also a bit emo, but more metal than the other band. I really like them, but I think I like Falling in Reverse more. I do have a Ghostmane song on one of my main playlists, but I have not recently listened to any of their other songs.

GWAR – If you know me at all, you know that GWAR is my favorite band of all time. I am so so excited to see GWAR at Aftershock, and I am going to stand in the very front. They are going to come out with a new album between now and Aftershock, so I am super excited to hear some of their new songs live, along with older songs as well. However, I know that festival sets are a lot shorter than normal concert sets, so that is a little sad but I am still so excited to see them. I also hope they play at night because that is when the show looks the best, but they are usually in the daytime because they are not as popular as the other bands attending.

Halestorm – My mom really likes this band, but I am not as excited about them as she is. I do think their music is good, but it is not my favorite. We will probably end up seeing them since my mom likes them, and I am looking forward to it. I do not really lever listen to their music frequently, but I do think I should get more familar with them if I am going to see them live.

HO99O9 – For those of you who do not know, this is pronounced horror. I do not know why haha, but it is. They are mostly shock rap, and it isn’t really my thing to listen to frequently. I do know that they do put on a good show since I have heard about them. They did attend Aftershock 2019, but I did not end up seeing them. I will see them if I can, but if another good band is playing at the same time, I will not.

Ice Nine Kills – I just recently started listening to this band and it turns out I really like them. I think their show would be super fun, so I am going to try to see them this year. I would probably listen to their music more frequently once I get more familar with it, since the stuff I have heard, I’ve really liked.

Jinjer – I am a little upset at myself that I have still not dove into this band, even after I said I would a couple years ago. I really do want to listen to them, since they are usually paired with other bands that I really like. I promise to myself that I will be listening to them soon, and before Aftershock actually happens.

Judas Priest – I have dabbled in a little bit of this band, but not as much as I would like. I know that they are pretty old in the grand scheme of things, and I would really like to get to know their music better. I like the music that I have heard, and I would really like to both see them in person and listen to more of their music.

Killswitch Engage – (I am going to copy and paste my opinion of this band from the last Aftershock post I made about the 2021 lineup.) I have never heard the music from this band, but I do know that a whole lot of people love them. I would love to get to know their music, and I already have a pretty positive opinion of them from other people. (My opinion has not changed since this previous post, but I do have something funny to share that has to do with them.) I was standing in line for Aftershcok 2021, and the guys behind my mom and I were talking about Killswitch Engage. One of the guys very confidently called them Killswitch And Gage, and I just thought this was so funny at the time. I still think it’s funny haha.

Kiss – I was so surpised to see that Kiss is going to be at Aftershock. I am super excited to see them, especially since I didn’t think I would ever get the opportunity to. I know a lot of their music, and there is also a Kiss themed mini golf course in Las Vegas that I have been to a couple of times. I really like their music, and I am so excited to get to see them in person.

Lamb of God – I have seen Lamb of God a couple of times in concert, and I do like them. I am not super in love with their music, but I do love the atmosphere of their concerts. I do hope that I can see them again, but I am not sure if it will be possible.

Meshuggah – I have heard some things about this band that make me really want to listen to their music. Just their name makes me think that they make grindy metal music that I will really like. I think it would be really fun to see them in concert, and I really hope I get to. I also want to become a lot more familar with them before I see them, but we will see how that goes.

Motionless in White – I absolutely love this band. I really like all of their music, and I even like their new music that they just came out with. I have seen them at Aftershock before, but I was not at the stage that they played at. I do hope I can be closer to them this time because I think I would really enjoy it.

My Chemical Romance – (I am going to copy and paste this opinion as well.) I really do like this band, but I only know their mainstream music. I would like to get more into them but I have not yet. I do plan on listening to a lot more of their music before I see them, because I really do like singing along at festivals.

Papa Roach – I really only know one Papa Roach song, but I do have a shirt that has them on it. It would make sense that I know more of their music since I have a shirt, but I do not. I would like to get to know their music better, and I know that my dad likes them, so that will be another goal between now and October.

Rob Zombie – I love Rob Zombie so much. I would love to actually meet him, which is not something I say a lot. I get a lot of inspiration from him, his music, how he looks, what he does. I love his music and I actually do listen to it a lot more than you would think. I really really want to see him live this year. I have seen him live before, but I do not think I liked him as much back then. I am so excited to see him and I really hope that he actually goes to Aftershock and does not drop out. He also generally seems like a nice guy, which is also a relief in the scene where a lot of people seem to take advantage of the power they hold over their fans.

Shinedown – I have really only heard one song from this band, but I do like it. I also know that my dad likes it, so that gives me a little bit of a better opinion of them. I know a lot of people lovet his band, so they may be worth seeing, but I’m not too sure yet.

Slipknot – I really love this band. I know almost all of their music, and I was front row to see them at Aftershock 2019. I’ve really been looking forward to seeing them again, and I’m so excited to see them this soon. I didn’t think they were going to even be in the US for at least another year, so I am excited. I do need to brush up on the music, but I do listen to some of it frequently.

Spiritbox – The only thing I really know about this band is that one of my best friends likes them, so I am looking forward to possibly seeing them live.

Stone Temple Pilots – I do know some of their music from my childhood, but I have not listened to any of it in years. I don’t know if I really want to see them or not because I remember not really being super fond of them, but my mom likes them I think so I think that we might be seeing them.

The Interrupters – I do like this band’s music, but I don’t love it. I would like to see them, but I am not too bent on it. I also don’t think this is music that I would be frequently listening to ever.

Thrice – I love this band. I am not exactly sure if it was this band or not, but I have met many die hard fans of bands like this one, so I am very excited to see them. I also crowd surfed for the first time at a concert of a band like this, so that is even more exciting.

Vended – I know that Vended was formed with the lead singer of Slipknot’s son, so that is exciting. I haven’t actually ever listened to any of their music yet, but I would definitely like to. I do think that I will end up listening to some of their music before the festival. On a side note, I think it is so cool that father and son are going to be performing at the same festival in different bands. I wonder how that feels.

Yungblud – I really like Yungblud. He is a really good person, and the message that he is trying to spread is good. I also like his music, but haven’t listened to much lately. I have seen him before, and I would really like to see him again.
That is the end of the very lengthly post haha. I am very proud of anyone who has made it to the end. I know this was a super long post, but I really enjoyed making it. I really hope that I have some different opinions of these bands after the festival, and I hope that I have found some new bands that I also like.
I will still be making regular Music Tuesday posts, along with other special ones like this. I’m excited to try to listen to all of these bands before the festival actually happens, and I really hope I can get through a lot of them.
Thank you all so much for reading my blog post and supporting my journey. I appreciate every single one of you, espeically those of you who take the time to read these longer posts.
