Ambulance – First Road Trip

Hello! Welcome back to another blog post! This is another from the content I am catching up on, so it is by no means new content. If you would like to watch the longform video that is about the same thing, you can click here. This was my first travel vlog on YouTube, and I am so excited to make more in the future. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures, so if you want any kind of visual you will have to watch the video haha!

I was super excited to take this trip since the longest I had driven the ambulance before was about 2 hours, and that was the day I received it. This trip was about 6 hours there, and 3.5 hours back, since we were going to a different place then whence we came.

About an hour from Las Vegas, the ABS light started coming on intermittently on my dash, and my voltmeter would tell me that my battery was losing voltage. My engine would also stutter occasionally. We pulled over, and my engine ended up stalling.

We figured it was an issue with my battery, because of the voltmeter and the fact that none of the lights on the dash were coming on after that. Alex removed some things in the back that might be causing the battery to drain, and my parents took us back to Vegas to get a new battery. They were coming with us on the trip, but took their own car which really made this a lot easier.

When we finally came back from that, we put the new battery in and it started up perfectly fine. It worked pretty well for the rest of the trip. We only had a little bit of stuttering in my voltmeter and the ABS light flashed on a couple times for a split second. Nothing else bad happened besides the for the duration of the rest of the trip.

It felt like we got to the hotel dozens of hours later, and I was so relieved when we finally got to park. We did drive it around a couple times while we were there, but not a whole lot due to the parking lots being hard to navigate and the streets being quite skinny at times.

Alex and I went down to the pier after the trip, and that was really nice. It was going to be really hard to find a parking spot for the ambulance though, so we just left it parked at the ambulance. Our hotel was super close to the pier, so it wasn’t too bad.

We then drove about 4 hours home after that, and nothing bad happened thank goodness. It was mostly a nice trip, besides travelling through Los Angeles, which is always a bit of a pain.

It was a really nice first trip, and I am super excited to go on many more. We have gone on a couple since then, and one of those I have already made a video about here, but will have a blog post about it out soon as well. The other ones will be out when I start posting new content soon! If you’d like to experience this blog post in longform video content, you can click here.

Thank you so much for reading my blog post and sticking around with my blog! I’ll see you guys in the next one!
