Life Update #2

So, I think that it is time for another life update. There has been a lot going on during the holidays and I have received things I am excited about. I would also like to announce my new years goals so I can be held a little more accountable. This post will be a little bit of all over the place because a lot of a things have been happening, but none of them are important enough right now to have a post to themselves.

I received a lot of art supplies during the holidays, including oil paints, watercolor paints, and some new canvases. I also received an Instax camera that I have been using a lot. All of these things have motivated me to start creating more.

The camera has spurred me to come up with many fun ideas for the pictures. One of these ideas is creating a kind of scrapbook/memory notebook for my parents to give them at the end of next year. Another idea is making a travel notebook with ideas of places on one page and then on the adjacent page putting pictures of when we actually go, including pictures taken with my Instax camera. I hope to be documenting these things on both my instagram page and my blog posts.

Getting the oil paints has especially motivated me to start using them, however, I do not really have a workspace to use them in yet. I really would like a workspace before I start using them because they take a long time to dry, there is a lot of preparation involved, and I would be spread out a lot. I usually use the dining room table in my house for all of my artistic projects, but this is not very feasable for this because we also use the table every day for eating. I will be able to use these soon, only because my father is designing and building me a worktable for all of my art projects. I am so grateful to have a father who has the ability to do these kinds of things. After this table is built, the speed at which my art projects, including oil paintings, will be much faster than it is now.

I have also been using watercolors a lot more than I have in the past. I have mostly been painting backgrounds for forest scenes, which I really like. I like how they turn out, and I like how easy they are to make. I have made two so far, and hope to make a lot more in the future and put them both here on my blog and on my Instagram account.

One other very important thing that I have done recently is bought a lot more resin, and also a ton of resin molds. I have made several resin ashtrays, and I have loved how they all turned out. I looked around for more cool molds, and found a bunch. I am excited to receive all of these things and start making more resin things in the near future.

I also have a few new years resolutions that I would like to let you guys know about.

The first one is finally buying my van and starting to build it out. I am hoping to have this started by the middle of the year, because I have been preparing for so long and am already so close to my goal.

Another resolution that goes along with this is to make more art. I have not been making as much art as I would have liked, and that is only because I do not have much desire to do it over other, more “fun” things. However, this is how I plan on making my money in the future, so I have to have a set schedule of how often I create art pieces and try to sell them. This is also the main way I plan on making money to buy my van, so this goes along with the first resolution. The more art pieces I have for sale, the more likely a sale will be.

The last resolution I have right now is to listen to more podcasts. I used to listen to more podcasts, and I really enjoyed them. However, I got busy and stopped listening to them as much. I would like to get back into this and I have already started to look for podcasts that I would like to listen to, so I am hoping this will go well.

Thank you so much for reading my blog post and for supporting me in my journey!
