Resin Ashtray Pictures – Pink Weed Leaf Ashtray

This is one of the first resin ashtrays I made. It was for my mother, so all of it was pink. I used a lot of pink pigment and also crushed up some pink rose petals to put inside of the resin. There is a vintage Playboy picture inside of it.

While doing this ashtray, I learned that you have to measure out the same amount of pigment for each layer or else it will look different. I also found out that I should probably do thinner layers when working with flowers, because they float to the top of every layer and I do not really like that aesthetic.

This ashtray is unfortunately not for sale, but if you would like a similar one, please shoot me a DM on my Instagram page. 🙂

P.S. I have created a new site page for all my resin pictures that I have uploaded so far, and you can access it with this link: https://baileymchatton.com/pictures-of-everything/resin-pictures/

I will be updating it periodically whenever I upload more pictures. If any of you wanted to go check it out, I would really appreciate it.

P.P.S. If you would like to participate in the weekly poll to decide what kind of post I make for this Wednesday, you can access it at this link: https://strawpoll.com/w7vyh1u97 Thank you so much for participating!

P.P.P.S. If you would like a custom ashtray, the general pricing for just color and glitter in my medium to small molds would be $15 locally in Vegas, and $20 if I am shipping it to you. This would be $5 extra if I am using a larger mold, since it takes more resin to make. The general pricing for color, glitter, and flowers or a picture or whatever else you want me to put in it would be $20 locally in Vegas, and $25 if I am shipping it to you. If you would like me to add a magnet in the bottom or the sides, that would be $5 extra. If you wanted something that had more stuff than this, the pricing varies.

P.P.P.P.S. If you or anyone you know has just gotten into resin or would like to get into resin, make sure to check out this blog post: https://baileymchatton.com/2021/01/31/tips-i-learned-while-using-resin/ This is a collection of all of the tips I have learned since I have started using resin. I am constantly updating this with all the new tips I learn as well!

Thank you all so much for reading my blog post and supporting my journey! I’ll see you guys next time.

    1. Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. I also really like the colors and want to experiment more with layers of completely different colors, and also trying to get the colors exactly the same in each layer. I think both will be challenging but worth it!

  1. Just curious… do resin ashtrays hold up to someone putting out a cigarette in them? Also, do you have a mold for a resin bowl? Some people might choose that over an ashtray.

    1. Yes they do hold up to high temperatures! It does take about 2 weeks for the resin to “heat cure,” but it is definitely heat resistant. I have bought a few new molds and have not bought a bowl mold specifically but I am definitely interested in that in the near future! I have a mold that is a coffin container and a mold that is a stackable jewelry holder, which could be used as bowls. I agree, not all people like ashtrays or would use one, so that is why I bought so many more molds 🙂 thank you so much for your comment!
