Art I Want to Create in the Future #3

Hello! This is the third and final installment of the series of posts where I talk about what kind of art I want to create in the future. There might be an updated version of this in the future, since I might discover new kinds of art that interest me that I might not have thought about yet. I am really excited to finally start working on all of these things in a more serious way so I can increase my skills in all of these areas.

If you have not read part one or part two, here are the links:

    Photography –

I think that this is a very interesting category of art, because there is so much to learn and be able to do. There are so many examples of how amazing people can make their pictures that they take, and there are also so many unedited pictures that are already so amazing just because they have the skill of taking nice pictures. I think it would be really interesting to see all of the things I can do with this skill and maybe even make some money off of it in the future.

There are so many places that I think I can take amazing pictures of, but I do not have the right skill or a good enough camera for this that I own. I think there are a lot of classes on SkillShare on how to take good pictures and how to edit those pictures, so I am definitely looking forward to doing those classes in the near future.

    Building –

I think this is a very interesting skill to have, and it is useful for your entire life. In my freshman year of high school, I took a woodworking class and liked the class, but not the people who were in the class with me. This is also going to be very helpful when I buy my van and have to build it out. I think that start art projects now that have to do with a small amount of building and putting things together will help me know how to solve problems that I have in the future with my van.

I know a few people who would be willing to help me with this, and this is another thing that I can search for classes on SkillShare for. This is a much more practical skill than the other skills that I am writing about, and a much more complicated skill than most of the other ones here. I am definitely looking forward to this in the near future.

    Sculpting/Carving –

These are both skills that I have recently become very interested in. I want to start carving things out of stone, but I think that sculpting things out of material such as clay would be much easier and much more forgiving than rock. Also, sculpting is much cheaper than carving and much easier to store and have a space for.

I think it would be really cool to start carving things, but I also think that it would be cool to sculpt things out of clay. I have seen one of my mother’s friends sculptures that she has recently made, and they are super cool. I do not think it would take that much practice for me to make things out of clay, but I could definitely be wrong about that. I would like to start doing this soon because this will also improve my skills in other areas.

    Oil Pastels –

A while ago, I went through all of my gramma’s old art supplies that we used to use to bring some home with me, and some of those happened to be some almost unused oil pastels. I have not used oil pastels since elementary school, but I really think that I can end up doing some cool things with them. I am also looking forward to searching for SkillShare classes on how to use them, since I recently started using it.

I think that this would really be a cool thing to use with watercolors because the watercolors and the oil pastels would not mix, so it would be an interesting challenge for myself. People around me have been motivating me to use these, since they like how they look, so I will probably be doing this very soon, sooner than the others at least. I will also be posting these pictures when I finish the project.

    Colored Pencils –

This is a medium that I have been interested for a very long time, but have never had the patience or expertise to get it to work with me properly or how I want it to. I have seen people make some really amazing things with colored pencils, so I would definitely like to try my hand in this area. I know I am not that great at illustration yet, but I think I have the determination to push myself to improve my skills in this area.

Illustration is a very hard skill for me to practice because I get so frustrated with myself when I cannot do things right the first time, but I think I have the strength to finally start practicing. I also think that this is a good medium to use with other mediums such as acrylic and watercolor paint. I really enjoy mixing mediums because I think it opens up the possibilities for an art piece that much more.

    Stationery –

There are several YouTubers that I follow that create things with stationery, such as bullet journey spreads, letters, and care packages. This is really interesting to me because they can take all of these materials and turn them into something really beautiful. I have recently bought some materials for this, such as pens and tape, so that I hope to start creating beautiful bullet journal spreads and letters to send to people.

Personally, I would love to receive a hand written letter like this in the mail. I would like to do this for other people to make them feel nice and loved. I also think that there are a bunch of classes on SkillShare on how to make things like this look nice and how to choose the color pallate for things like this. I already have a good sense of how to make things nice and how to organize things together, but I think that this would really help my skills improve in this area.

This is both the end of this section and the end of this series of posts for now. I may write more of these in the future, but I am not sure yet, and they will probably not come along for a long time. Thank you all so much for reading my blog post and supporting my journey!
