What an Ideal Day in My Van Looks Like

Hello! This is a bit of a different kind of post than what I have put up on my blog so far, but this is what you guys voted on! I am going to describe what an ideal day in my van looks like, and this is obviously not reality yet, since I don’t even have a van right now.

This post is going to be split into two parts: A travel day and a stationary day. The travel day will be the ideal day when I am moving from one place to another, and the stationary day is when I am staying in one place for the entire day. Of course, this does not cover every scenario, since there is an infinite amount of things that can happen in one day. However, the title of this post does say it is an ideal day, not a super realistic day.

Travel Day

On a day where I am going to travel to another place, I would like to wake up around 5 or 6 in the morning to watch the sunrise.

I would like to then meditate and then journal a little bit in my daily journal to set a nice mood for the day.

I would then like to take a short walk around the place I am staying at to take in my surroundings one last time before I leave. During the walk, I would like to sit somewhere for a little bit to sketch the scene in front of me to remember the place by. Also during this walk, I would like to do a short exercise to get my body ready for the day.

Before I leave, I would like to either find a place to eat or eat things that I already have in my van to get myself started for the day. I am not sure how long everything before this will take, so I might eat earlier. I would like to have something healthy but filling in the mornings to get my body feeling fresh and ready for the day.

After I am done with this, I would like to make sure everything in my van is put away and isn’t going to slide around while I drive, and then get on my way to the next place. I’m really looking forward to this because if there is a place on the way there that I want to check out, I can because I do not have any time related responsibilities.

Either on the road or when I get to the next place, I would then like to eat again, either things I have in my van or finding a local restaurant to try out. I’m really looking forward to trying all of these new foods and, places to eat.

I would then like to settle myself down in the new place I am staying by setting up anything inside of my van that I want, making my bed, and putting a welcome mat outside for myself. After doing this, I would want to make another entry in my daily journal and write about the transition, how I like the new place, and how I liked the old place.

If the time is right, I would like to watch the sun set after this, and relax inside or outside of my van, depending on the weather. I may have a snack or do a little bit of art as well. During this time, I would also like to work on a blog post for my blog. I will still hopefully be posting pretty frequently during the week, so I would have to write a lot of posts to keep up with my schedule.

After I watch the sun set, I would probably like to eat again. I would most likely eat somewhere local so I have a higher chance of meeting new people. After hopefully meeting some new people, I would then like to read a little bit either inside or outside of my van. I really love reading and I miss reading every day. This will be more attainable when I am living in a van because I will have more free time than I do now.

Right before I go to bed, I would like to meditate again. I would choose a meditation that is good for helping you fall asleep, and hopefully I would not be going to bed too late. I will be getting a good night’s sleep before the next day.

    Stationary Day

I would like the entire morning on a stationary day to be the same as a travel day: wake up, watch the sunrise, meditate, journal, write a blog post, sketch a little bit, and eat breakfast. However, after this is when things start to change.

Right after I get back to my van and eat a little bit, I would like to do some kind of physical activity. This includes things such as hiking, surfing, running, or just going for a longer walk. I would like to try and be active at least a little bit every day in my van.

My main sources of income while I am living in my van will hopefully be my blog and selling my art. So, after my morning routine that I have already described, I would like to check to see if I have sold anything, take pictures of new things I have sold, post these new things to sell, and make sure that my blog is doing alright.

After I take care of these maintenance things, I would like to either explore the place around my van some more, or take my van into the nearest interesting place or city to explore things there. This is one of the things that I am most excited about while living in my van, exploring new places. I know that I will discover so many new things, some of them being things I could never even imagine seeing in person.

After I do this, I would like to come back to my van and eat a little bit, also either from my van or somewhere local. This meal would be ideally pretty filling and the least-healthy healthy meal of the day.

Even though I already did some exploring earlier in the day, I would like to explore the nearest town a little more than I did earlier. If I do not want to do this, I would like to spend this time doing art. Maybe more sketching, drawing, or painting. I could also work on a piece that I had already started sometime earlier.

After this, I would like to go back to the van in the spot I have chosen and start to settle down for the night. I would like to journal a little bit again, maybe do some more art, watch the sun set, eat again, meditate, and then go to sleep to be well rested for the next day.

I really hope that when I end up finally getting my van that these dreams of my ideal days come true. This is pretty much my dream life and it would mean so much to me if I could start living like this at any point in the future.

Thank you all for reading my blog post and supporting my journey! It really means a lot to me that all of you take the time to read these posts. If you would like to participate in the poll for next week, here is the link: https://strawpoll.com/9yz8k4brq I did not have that many people vote last time I did a poll, so I would really appreciate it if you would like to vote this week!
