Music Tuesday – PWR BTTM

Hello! This is another Music Tuesday! This is a band that I discovered by accident a few months ago, and I absolutely loved the one song I heard from them. I then heard another song from them a while after that, and I absolutely loved that song too. I really wanted to review this band because I already knew I liked some of their songs, and I wanted to learn more.

I was a little disappointed when I found out that this band only has one album, made in 2015. I really hope that they come out with more music in the future, but I am not going to get my hopes up, for a few reasons that I will discuss a little later in this post.

Since they only have one album, I will be reviewing that one album and also choosing my top 3 favorite songs, even though they only have 11 songs total. I really like a lot of their songs, so I want to review more than one for sure. Their one album is only half an hour long, so this band was not hard to listen to completely.

PWR BTTM was formed in 2013 with two people. They actually did release a second album, but it is not on Spotify, so there is no way for me to listen to it. I really wish I could listen to this second album, but I am going to assume it was terrible so I am not that sad. After their second album was released, bad things happened to the band, so they fell out of popularity.

Even though they will not be making any more music, I will still be writing about them. I will write about their one album available to me and 2 of my favorite songs of theirs. I will not be doing 3 favorite songs this time, only because I did not really love any other songs from them.

Album – Ugly Cherries

I like this album a lot. They have one main sound and feeling that goes throughout all of the songs, but all of the songs sound a little different. It reminds me of how there can be a color with a bunch of different hues. Some of the songs are slower and more somber, while others are faster and more upbeat. However, you can tell that they all belong to one album. I would not listen to a lot of these songs on this album on a daily basis, but I do enjoy listening to all of them. I expected to like a lot more of their songs, since I had really loved the two songs I had heard of theirs, but none of the other songs really had that same emotion.

Top 2 Songs

     Dairy Queen –

This was the first song I heard from this band, and I really liked it immediately. This song is about doing a ton of amazing things, but not being able to at the moment due to being in the shower. I really like this song for a few reasons. I really like all of the amazing things they talk about doing, and I love the repetition of being in the shower after mentioning each thing. I also love how this song sounds since it has a really indie feel and it’s slow, but also upbeat at the same time somehow. I like listening to this song in the car, since it is usually easy to sing along to. Since this was the first song I heard from this band, it is not really a surprise that it is my favorite song of theirs.

     I Wanna Boi –

This is the second song I heard from this band, and I love the lyrics the most. I can relate to a lot of the lyrics in this song, but also cannot relate to the rest. This song is about what the singer wants in a boyfriend, and describes all of the different qualities that his boyfriend should have. I think this song is a little funny, and I like everything about it. I also like to listen to this song in the car, but I cannot sing along to this one as well as my top favorite song. I wish nothing had happened in this band so that they could make more music like this, since I really love it.

All in all, I really like this album of the band, but not the band itself. I wish I could freely listen to their music, but that is not very possible. If you have any suggestions of bands that are like this, please leave them in the comments because I would love to listen to more music like this in the future!

That is the end of this Music Tuesday post! I am really excited to do my next one, since the band is one I have wanted to get into for a very long time. If you have any requests of bands or musical artists that I should listen to and review, please leave a comment, and I will add them to the list! I have really loved doing these posts, and I would love to continue doing them for a while! I hope you have liked the other Music Tuesday posts as well!

P.S. If you would like a custom ashtray, the general pricing for just color and glitter in my medium to small molds would be $15 locally in Vegas, and $20 if I am shipping it to you. This would be $5 extra if I am using a larger mold, since it takes more resin to make. The general pricing for color, glitter, and flowers or a picture or whatever else you want me to put in it would be $20 locally in Vegas, and $25 if I am shipping it to you. If you would like me to add a magnet in the bottom or the sides, that would be $5 extra. If you wanted something that had more stuff than this, the pricing varies.
