Music Tuesday – Aftershock 2021 Before Review!

Hello! This is another kind of new Music Tuesday post that I have not made before. I have decided to make this kind of post because I want to track my musical journey and how my taste in music and my opinion of bands evolves over time.

I am going to be reviewing all of the bands going to Aftershock in alphabetical order, and then after I listen to all of the bands, I will come back to this post and update my opinions about all of the bands that I had listened to. I’m really looking forward to listening to all of these bands and forming new opinions about them.

Most of the bands that are going to Aftershock are bands that I have heard of or know at least a little something about them, but there are a lot that I do not know anything about yet. Since there is not much for me to review about these bands that I have not heard of yet, I will not be fully reviewing these bands until I have actually listened to them.

There are 61 bands attending this festival, but one of those has not been announced yet. Of those 60 bands that have been announced, I have heard of 23 of them. I will only be talking about these bands in this post, but at the end of listening to all of these bands, I will be reviewing all 61 of them. This future post will probably have to be divided into about three parts.

    Here we go:

Alien Weaponry: I have seen this band once with my mom a few years ago. I really like their music already and how they sound. They have a lot of tribal influence in their music, and this makes it really fun to listen to. The band members are all very young, so I think there is a lot more good music to come from them in the future. I am looking forward to discovering more of their music in the near future.

Anthrax: I have not heard a whole lot about this band, but I have gone to a festival where they were playing. I did not see them, but since they are rock/metal, I have high hopes for what their music sounds like.

Asking Alenandria: I have seen this band once, and I did not like it that much. I did not pay a whole lot of attention, but when I did, I did not like it. However, I am keeping an open mind to their music, and I do want to learn more about them and try to see if I like their music now. I am looking forward to trying this band out again.

Atreyu: I really like this band. This was the first band I crowdsurfed to, and it was during Aftershock in 2019. I already have a good opinion of this band, and they have a really heavy sound which I really enjoy. I think that this is really good music to be angry to, or just to completely vibe out to when you want to. I’m super excited to discover more of their music.

Avatar: I was introduced to this band by one of my best friends a few years ago, and I have wanted to see them ever since. They have a really unique sound and a really unique kind of performance that I am really interested in. I have not listened to a whole bunch of their songs, but the songs that I have heard have been really good.

Badflower: This is another band that I have not heard a whole lot about, but am very interested in. I know they have gone to festivals that I have attended, and I am really excited to find out more about them. I know that they are unique, but I do not know how they are unique. I think I am going to like this band a lot.

Black Veil Brides: I only really know this band from backpacks and shirts that I have seen around in my life, so I have never listened to them. I have a lot of opinions of this band that are probably wrong, so I am excited to find out what kind of music that they really make.

Gojira: I have seen this band in concert once at Aftershock in 2019. I really loved listening to them, but did not get a whole lot of listening done because I was trying to make my way into the mosh pit the whole time. I would still really like to listen to this band more, because I also know that they opened for Slipknot on one of their world tours.

Hatebreed: I have also seen this band a couple of times. While it is not my favorite kind of music ever, I still really liked all of the music that I have heard from them. I am definitely looking forward to becoming more familar with their music.

Killswitch Engage: I have never heard the music from this band, but I do know that a whole lot of people love them. I would love to get to know their music, and I already have a pretty positive opinion of them from other people.

Knocked Loose: This is one of my favorite heavy metal bands of all time. I haven’t heard that many of their songs, but I have heard them in concert before. I love most of the songs that I have heard from them already, so I am super excited to listen to all of their other music.

Limp Bizkit: I did not know that this band existed for a really long time, but when I found out, it was with one song. This one song is still to this day the only song I have heard from them, but I really liked it. I want to listen to more of their music to find out if I like the rest of it just as much as I liked that one song.

Machine Gun Kelly: I have heard a few of his songs, and I have liked those. I am not sure if I will like the rest of them, but I do know that there is a wide variety of styles of music within his repertoire. I am excited to finally listen to more of his music.

Metallica: Up until about a year ago, I did not have a good opinion of Metallica. I thought they were overrated, all their songs sound the same, and that they were too old for me to relate to. I found out that most of these things were not true, so I am excited to listen to more of their music soon. I have found a few songs of theirs that I have really loved, so I have high hopes.

My Chemical Romance: I only know a few songs from this band, since they were so mainstream that I was resistant to ever listen to them. However, I am now ready to listen to the rest of their music and find out what songs I also like from them.

The Offspring: This is one of the bands that I grew up with. My dad always listened to a lot of their music, so I have already known a lot from a young age. I have also seen them in concert once, and I loved it. I love a lot of their songs that I have heard, so I am excited to see what new songs I like.

Parkway Drive: I only know a couple of songs from this band, but I really like all of them. I am exicted to see if their other songs are similar to the ones I know or not.

Pop Evil: I have listened to a lot of this band before, doing a similar thing to what I am doing now with new bands. A few years ago, I listened to a lot of their music, and found out that I was not a huge fan of it. I hope that my opinion has changed in this time, and I am looking forward to finding out.

Seether: I have not heard a lot of Seether songs, but I have liked all of the songs I have heard. I hope I like the rest of their songs just as much. I know that this band has been around for a while, so I have pretty high hopes in terms of how much I like their music.

Social Distortion: I have not heard a whole lot about this band other than the fact that they are popular. I hope I like their music when I listen to it.

Steel Panther: I absolutely love Steel Panther. I have seen them in concert once a few years ago, and that was how I was introduced to them in the first place. They have such funny music that I am super excited to find out what other kinds of songs they have. I do not know how many albums they have, but I have probably listened to the equivalent of about two albums of theirs already.

Suicidal Tendencies: Me and my mom have always listened to their most popular song, Institutionalized, so I love this band. I think that song is so good and I hope that more of their songs have the same kind of message when I listen to them.

Volbeat: I also know that this band was associated with Slipknot, so I already have a good opinion of them. I know that their music is pretty heavy, and I really like that so I am excited to listen to more of their music in the near future.

This is the end of this before review of all of the bands I know that are attending Aftershock 2021. I’m really excited to expand my knowledge of all of this music, and I am super excited to find more music that I like. If you have any comments or suggestions, please leave them in the comments! I love hearing from you guys!

Thank you so much for reading my blog post and supporting my journey! I am super excited to continue on this journey of music with all of you guys coming along for the ride!

P.S. If you would like a custom ashtray, the general pricing for just color and glitter in my medium to small molds would be $12 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 extra if I am shipping it to you. This would be $3 extra if I am using a larger mold, since it takes more resin to make. The general pricing for color, glitter, and flowers or a picture or whatever else you want me to put in it would be $15 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 if I am shipping it to you. If you would like me to add a magnet in the bottom or the sides, that would be $5 extra. If you wanted something that had more stuff than this, the pricing varies.
