Watercolor Sunrise/Sunset Forest Paintings

Hello! This is a kind of post that I hope to be making a lot more of in the future. This is a post about a kind of painting that I have done a few of, and might start selling in the future. I really hope to start painting a whole lot more in the very near future because I miss it a lot.

The painting that I am talking about are watercolor sunrises/sunsets with a forest in front of them. So far, I have made 3 of these, and I will be showing each one throughout this post. There are only a few steps to making these, and they have always ended up looking really nice when I finish them.

I have seen a lot of things like this in the past that have really inspired me, so I was really excited to finally make one myself. A year ago, I would have never thought that I would be painting such cool things like this, and now I cannot wait to see what I will be able to paint in the future.

The first step in making these paintings is to choose your colors for the background. I usually choose a gradient that is at one end of the color spectrum like cool colors or warm colors. After I paint those onto the paper, I let that layer dry. I first started using watercolor paper for this, which is the best kind of paper, but I recently ran out so I made one on sketchbook paper.

The sketchbook paper worked alright, but it was pretty thin and made me realize that I need to get some more watercolor paper before I make any more of these. I will be getting some more watercolor paper very soon, so I will be making a lot more of these paintings very soon.

This is the first painting that I made of this kind. There is a little bird in the background and I really like that. I do not like the trees on the left, but I have improved them since then. I gifted this to my boyfriend’s mother a few months ago.

I’m really excited to make more of these since they are fun to make. Anyhow, the next step in making this kind of painting is to choose a color for the ground and to paint it onto the paper. I usually choose a green, but I might experiment with other colors, such as other colors from the rainbow or even a brown.

After waiting for that part of the painting to dry, I choose a few brushes like a small brush and a fan brush to make the trees. I make vertical lines wherever I want the trees to be and then start using the fan brush like Bob Ross to make the branches and leaves of the trees.

I recently just started improving these paintings with more details after I add the trees, but I want to start adding them before the trees and after the background. I make little dots in the sky and stars and sparkles to make it look more magical and nice. I have seen a lot of people using these kinds of shapes to make things look nicer, and I like it as well.

This is the second painting of this kind I did. This was a custom order, and I loved making it. My trees got a lot better from the first one, and there are also more details in this one.

There are a few aspects of this kind of painting that I would like to improve upon like the watercolors, the trees, and the details. I’m going to start watching some videos and educating myself on how to make these aspects of my paintings better so I feel more confident about my skills and maybe even branch out in the future sooner than I would have without learning more about these things.

Two of these paintings have been gifts, and one of them was sold. I really love giving gifts that I make to people, and I also love selling my art because then I can see the things that I make in their natural habitat. I do plan on selling more of these in the future.

After I get more watercolor paper, I want to make a bunch of these in different colors, styles, and with different details. I think that they would be really nice to hang up almost anywhere, since they are so colorful and simple. They will all have a certain color pallate, so it will be even easier to find a spot for them or to use them to brighten a room or space.

This is the most recent painting of this kind that I did, and it is so far my favorite. I like the details I put into this one a lot. I gifted this one to my boyfriend’s grandmother.

If you would ever be interested in purchasing one of these in the future, or would like to place a custom order, please leave a comment, send me a message, or send me an email so we can talk about it. I’d love to hear from you! Also, if you have any comments or suggestions, please leave a comment because I need all the help I can get!

Thank you all so much for reading my blog post and supporting my journey! I am going to continue posting one blog post every day for at least another month. It is a lot of work, but I think it will be worth it in the end. If you would like to share my blog with anyone you know, I would really appreciate it!

P.S. If you would like a custom ashtray, the general pricing for just color and glitter in my medium to small molds would be $12 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 extra if I am shipping it to you. This would be $3 extra if I am using a larger mold, since it takes more resin to make. The general pricing for color, glitter, and flowers or a picture or whatever else you want me to put in it would be $15 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 if I am shipping it to you. If you would like me to add a magnet in the bottom or the sides, that would be $5 extra. If you wanted something that had more stuff than this, the pricing varies.

    1. Thank you so much! I really like those too, but the first one is my least favorite to be completely honest. I’m really excited to do a lot more of these and I want to even make a series soon! Thank you for commenting!
