Painting Wooden Anniversary Boats!

Hello! This post is going to be about an activity that I did with my boyfriend. I’m excited to share this with you guys since I think it’s a really cute idea and I also want to do it again in the future. I really enjoyed doing this and maybe you will want to do it too!

I have been with my boyfriend now for 6 months, and for our 6 month anniversary, he came up with this idea to paint something together. So, we went down to a craft store and picked out 2 cute boats with paddles and a small bird house to paint. We would each paint one boat and we would paint the birdhouse together.

We have not painted the bird house yet, but we will soon so that will be a post to look forward to in the future. I’m really excited to do that because the bird house is super cute and I really want to paint more things with him in the future.

The little boats we got were like tiny paddle boats on a stand and they also came with a little paddle that was not attached. I really like how these boats looked and I bet that if I wanted to, I could make something like this in the future that was even better than the quality we got.

In the beginning, my boyfriend wanted to make his boat look like a navy boat, but he soon changed his mind. He ended up drawing a camo pattern on one side and making a blue, black, and grey camo pattern. It ended up looking super cool and I really like it.

On the other side of his boat, he decided to do a green, black, and grey camo pattern. This side also looks really cool and I like it a lot. He also realized that painting the whole stand black did not really match the green side, which had a lot more grey in it than black.

Then, he decided to paint half of the stand grey, on the green camo side, and half of the stand black, on the blue camo side. I really love how his boat turned out with this because I think this was a really creative idea and the stand color really ties each side into the whole picture more.

On the inside, since he saw what I was doing, he decided to paint it gold. We have some liquid gold paint, and it ended up looking really good on this material. I really like how the inside of his boat turned out as well because it goes with both colors of the sides and it makes the boat seem more luxurious.

At first, I had no idea of what I would make my boat look like. I thought about it for a while and eventually decided that I wanted to do a super cute cottagecore like boat with vines and flowers and a nice wooden colored boat. This is what I ended up going with, but not to the level that I would have liked.

If I ever want to paint a boat again, I would like to recreate this boat, but with a lot more detail. I would like to make everything have more depth and look more real. I think that over time, my skills of these things will grow so I will be able to do this better than I did this time.

On the sides, I painted all of the main body of the boat a medium brown color, and I painted all of the trim on the boat white. I had to do a couple of coats of white because the brown bled onto it in some places. After this all dried, I painted the stand all black so it blended in with the surroundings of the boat, wherever I put it.

After all of this dried, I painted a thin green vine along both sides. In the future, I would like to make this vine thinner and more detailed with more variation than I did this time around. When the vine dried, I ended up making little dotted flowers along it that are pink, blue, and purple.

I also wish that I could have used a lighter pink for the flowers, but I still really like how it looks. After these dried, I dotted little yellow centers in the middle of all the flowers. I really like how cute all of these flowers are and I’m sure I will do this kind of flower again.

In the future, I would like to make all of the flowers more detailed and maybe put a couple more light flower colors into the mix. I would love to learn how to paint better, more realistic flowers very soon, because I know I can do that. My mother paints really nice flowers, and I would like to do that as well.

I will be making more of these kinds of posts in the future, since I do plan on painting more things with him soon. I hope you enjoyed this post, because I sure enjoyed making it!

Just as a reminder, I will be making more YouTube videos very soon, so if you wanted to go follow my channel, my username is foolishbird. I appreciate everyone who subscribes and I hope you enjoy my videos!

Thank you so much for reading my blog post and supporting my journey! I appreciate it so much and I’m so excited to continue my journey making blogs and videos! I’m currently trying to post at least 3 times a week, maybe more some weeks, since posting every day seemed to be super overwhelming for me right now.

P.S. If you would like a custom ashtray, the general pricing for just color and glitter in my medium to small molds would be $12 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 extra if I am shipping it to you. This would be $3 extra if I am using a larger mold, since it takes more resin to make. The general pricing for color, glitter, and flowers or a picture or whatever else you want me to put in it would be $15 locally in Vegas, and $4.25 if I am shipping it to you. If you would like me to add a magnet in the bottom or the sides, that would be $5 extra. If you wanted something that had more stuff than this, the pricing varies.
