I’m in College Now!

Hello! This is basically an expansion on the last life update post, all about how I just started college. I did start college this semester, and I want to go for two years to get my associate’s degree. This, as you probably already know, is another reason I have not been posting as much.

Before the pandemic, I didn’t even really know what I wanted to do with my life, let alone if I wanted to go to college or not. However, throughout the pandemic I did realize that I wanted to start a few businesses, live in a van, travel, and sell art.

I didn’t really WANT to go to college, but as I thought more and more about starting businesses and networking with people, I started to realize that a lot of people probably wouldn’t take my dreams seriously if I did not have any education about how to actually start a business.

So, I decided that I would go to community college, to get a degree at a much lower cost than university. I chose this because I knew the only real reason I wanted to have a degree is so that people in the future take me seriously when I try to start my businesses.

Currently, I am majoring in Business, and I am taking all of my classes online so I can keep my schedule flexible. I plan on going for two years to get my Associate’s of Business, and then I want to start to persue by business starting dreams.

So far, college is going alright. I would not say that it is going good, but I would also not say that it is going badly. I am having some problems with scheduling myself to do schoolwork, because I think I have bad time management skills and I am also bad at prioritizing things.

I would say I am pretty organized, but I have not had the motivation to be organized in a couple weeks. I do really want to get my life together, school work included, over the next month. I want to be completely organized and not miss any more assignments in the future.

Before I started college, I had heard stories about how hard college classes are, like everyone hears, but I did not really believe it. Now that I am in college, however, I do now realize that they were right. All of my classes are challenging, and none of them are super easy, breeze through classes like I expected.

The one and only math class that I have to take for my degree is college algebra, which I thought was going to be really easy. Actually, it was pretty easy for most of the first chapter. Then, it started getting hard. I didn’t even know that algebra could be hard like that.

There are a whole bunch of problems that I actually have to think about, and I really do not like that nor did I expect it from an algebra class. I was excited to have at least one class where I did not have to do a lot of work, but it turns out that is completely false.

All of my other classes are also difficult, but I did expect that. I am also taking Communications 101, English 102, and Business 101. English is probably my easiest class, but it is not easy by any means. This does not make me look forward to all of my other classes that I’ll have to take, but I know that I have to do it.

After college ends, I hope that I will already have my van all built out and I can start travelling more frequently and selling more art. I also hope that I will be able to start building the foundations to at least one of my businesses at this point, but I do not expect much.

I may go back to college eventually to learn some other skills such as welding, automotive things, and different kinds of art. I do want to learn these things, but I do not know when I will have the time or motivation to actually go back to school for them.

I really hope that I will be able to keep posting consistenly on this blog, even though I am pretty busy outside of it. I really do want this to eventually be a reliable source of income, but I know that will not come for a while. But, in the meantime, I do need to keep working hard so I can actually have that in the future.

That is the end of this post, so thank you all so much for sticking around and reading this post! I really do appreciate it and I hope that I can keep coming out with content that you guys like enough to stick around for even longer.

    1. Thank you so much for commenting! Yeah, it has gotten a lot more difficult than what I expected, but I still have good grades, and I only have 2 and a half more months of it. I know I have to do all of these things to secure my success in the future.

    1. Aw thank you so much. I’m glad I decided to go, but I’ll definitely be happy when I’m done! And I’m really excited to learn those things because I’ve always wanted to do things like that and welding could open my art to new possibilities. Thank you so much!
