Hello! This was the second art project we had to do in my college art class, and I liked this a lot. I never really used to sketch anything before I drew it because I thought it was a waste of time, but I definitely proved myself wrong.
Before we started the main drawing project, we had to do 2 more blind contours drawings, where you do not look at the paper where you are drawing. You are only supposed to look at what you are drawing and add as many details as possible. These ones are much better than my first blind contours that I did for last session.

Then, we were to make 4 different hand poses on our really big sketchpad, 18″ by 24″, and then sketch them. My professor says that my sketches are too detailed, but I really like them haha. Here are my 4 hand poses sketched.

After we were done with that, we had to choose which one we thought was the best and then clean it up and do sharper lines. I chose the bottom right hand hand (haha) and I think it turned out pretty well.
Obviously, sketching really helped the proportions of my hand drawings and now I know that it is a vital step in drawing pretty much anything. We have been practicing this a lot and I think it has really been helping me.

I know that some of the proportions are still off, but it is a whole lot better than the hands I did in the last session. We didn’t have to do this with the other 3 sketches, but I think I should have. I still want to go back to all of these drawings I did at the beginning of the course, after I finish the course, and redo all of them. I really want to see how much progression I’ve made since I started.
That’s all I have for you guys this week, but I will have a very exciting post coming out next week, and another Art 101 post on Friday as well. I’m really looking forward to writing those and showing you guys what I’ve been up to. T
Thank you all so much for reading my blog post, and for supporting me! I’ll see you guys next time!
Very nice! I think they all look pretty good, especially for someone just beginning the process. Keep up the good work!

I think you’re doing great! I never knew how they taught drawing, so I’m learning something, too. Last time I had an art class, was 5th grade…haha
This is very interesting.

Thank you so much! Yeah, I also had no idea about how they taught drawing, but it is really making sense, especially with how much further I am into the course than I was at the time of this session. Haha, me too! Before this class, my last art class was in elementary school as well. Thank you for commenting!
