Hello! Welcome back to another post. I’ve fallen off the wagon of posting for a little bit, but I’m back. This one is going to be a bit reminiscent of the Music Tuesday posts I used to make, but this one is actually about a local band in Las Vegas! I’m really excited to be making this post for you guys, because I really want to start supporting the local scene a lot more.
I’ve been following this band for a while, a couple years at least, and I am really excited to share this with you guys. I actually met the founding member of this band, Ethan, in my freshman year of high school, so I have known him for a pretty long time, a little over five years by now.
I actually just got around to listening to his music about 6 months ago, and I turned out to really enjoy it. It is reminiscent of the music that I already enjoy listening to, so I was excited to find that he was making music that I liked.
I did try to get a picture of the whole band together, but I was unfortunately not successful in that quest.
So, now for the meat of the post.

THE JOURNEY
Psycho started because Ethan began having dreams and ideas and ended up writing lyrics about them. You know, I’ve only really heard about this in movies and books and online and stuff, never someone I personally knew. I think that’s really cool.
He wrote the music that he wanted to hear and did all the work of creating the entire songs at first. He wanted to experiment a lot with his music, so that’s what he did. Eventually, in his words, band members just came along, and that’s how Psycho started.
There have been a lot of shows so far, and many more to come. I really hope that I get to go to most, if not all, of them, because I really do enjoy their music. I actually already bought tickets to a show that they are headlining on my birthday, April 2nd, and I am really looking forward to that.

THE MUSIC
Personally, I would classify Psycho as an experimental rock/metal band, and I think they would agree. Therefore, it is definitely in the realm of music that I enjoy listening to.
It is a little weird to listen to music that someone I know made, but I’m getting past that haha. It feels way too close and personal, and that isn’t really my thing. Plus, I know that he puts his everything into his music, which makes it even more personal.
Their music is on pretty much every platform, and I will include the link to the YouTube channel here. There are music videos in the works, so stay tuned for all that.

THE SHOWS
There have been a lot of shows in the past that Psycho has played that I haven’t gone to, and I regret that a bit. I’ve recently found out that local shows are the holy grail, personally, of shows, and I want to go to every single one ever.
Ethan told me that they are planning on doing a west coast tour soon, and I’m looking forward to that. There are also a couple of other shows coming up that I know of, a few in Las Vegas, and at least one in California. I’ll include their Instagram information at the end of this post, with all of the other links for the socials, so you can check it out and follow them.
There is a show on my birthday, this Saturday, that I will be going to. I think I may bring a couple friends, and I would love to see any of you there as well.
I may write a short post about the show on April 2nd, but I am not sure how much you guys would enjoy that. I will probably just end up posting a couple of pictures, and not a whole lot of words.
THE VIBE
I asked Ethan what he thought the general vibe of the band is, and he said their vibe is basically someone who has multiple personalities. I think this is really interesting, but I can see it haha.
I’ve listened to all of his songs that he has put out so far, and I really like most of them. I can definitely tell that he is experimenting, and I really like that. There are some songs that have a more ballad-like feel, and I like that, but not as much as the harder stuff.
I know that a lot of people are into that, so that’s great they have some variety. I’ll include the names of a few of my favorite songs at the end of this section.

OTHER INFO
So, I said I would tell you guys my favorite songs, and here they are! I really like the song Deserted, partially because the beginning really sounds like the beginning of the song Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry, which I love. I also really like the song Hostage in Hell, just because the general vibe is really my thing.
They are currently selling shirts, if you are interested in that kind of thing. I will be purchasing one very soon, and I’m excited to wear it and support this local band. They are a bit cheaper at the shows, but if you do not have the privilege of living in Las Vegas, here is the link:
